Water, Salt, and Survival

Because the removal of salt from seawater is becoming such an important topic in the water industry, this article presents a discussion of the biologic aspects of water, salt, and survival. The importance of salt, ion transport, biologic ion requirements, salt tolerance, and water and agriculture are discussed.
