Fungi can produce a variety of mycotoxins at the same time under specific growth conditions. Ochratoxin A (OTA) and Ochratoxin B (OTB) often co-contaminate a variety of foods, posing a great risk of exposure to the population. A Brevundimonas naejangsanensis strain ML17 was selected from the soil to degrade OTA and OTB simultaneously. The strain degraded OTA into OTα and OTB into OTβ with a degrading rate of 100% within 24 h. The intracellular fractions of >10 kDa, 3–10 kDa, and <3 kDa degraded OTA at a rate of 100% within 24 h, while those of the extracellular components were 57.08%, 74.95% and, 31.64%, respectively. The OTA degradation rate of the strain within 15 subcultures reached 100% within 24 h and its extracellular enzyme had the degradation rate of OTA above 90% within the temperature range of 25–55 °C. Since the ML17 strain can degrade OTA and OTB simultaneously and had good stability, it is a potential detoxifier for ochratoxins. • The ML17 strain can degrade OTA into OTα and OTB into OTβ simultaneously. • Both the intracellular and extracellular components of the ML17 strain can degrade OTA. • The ML17 strain had good subculture stability on OTA degradation.
