A report of 1290 pediatric hidradenitis suppurativa hospitalizations: A nationwide analysis from the Kids' Inpatient Database

To the Editor: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is uncommon in children, generally occurring after puberty, between 20 and 24 years of age.1 There is a scarcity of large national population-based studies on hospitalized pediatric HS patients in the United States. Thus, we searched the 2016 Kids' Inpatient Database to determine the most common reasons for hospitalizations of pediatric HS patients. We then compared baseline characteristics and hospital outcomes of HS and non-HS pediatric hospitalizations.
