Effects of Tiller Inhibitors on Regulation of Rice Tillering

The effects of 5 kinds of tiller inhibitors on the tillering of rice varietyWuyunjing 7were studied.All the tiller inhibitors used could effectively regulate and control rice tillering,with inhibitor B performing the best function.The time for spraying inhibitors affected the results of inhibition,and the earlier the spray time,the better the effects.The target tiller position which inhibitors affected was closely related to the leaf age.If sprayed at the 5 leaf stage,the inhibited tiller positions were mainly Ⅳ and Ⅴ;if sprayed at the 9 leaf stage,the inhibited tiller positions were mainly Ⅶ and Ⅷ.At the ineffective tillering stage,spraying inhibitors could obviously reduce the number of ineffective tiller and decrease the peak seedling number of the population,thus increasing the N uptake,enhancing the efficiency of N utilization,the productive tiller percentage and rice yield.
