Determination of Chloramphenicol in Chloramphenicol Cream by Simultaneous Equations

OBJECTIVE To establish a method that determined chloramphenicol in chloramphenicol cream.METHODS Simultaneous equations of spectophotometry was applied for directing determination of two compotents of chloramphenicol(positive)and adjuvant(negative)awithout separation.The detected wavelengths were 258nm and 273nm the maxmal absorbance of the two compotents.RESULTS The equations of chloramphenicol was:C L=59.6608A K+L 273 -36.8621A K+L 258 -0.4174。The corresponding average recovery was 100.04%for chloramphenicol whose RSD was2.40%。CONCLUSION The method is simple rapid and reproducible.The interference of the other compotents can be eliminated and the results are acceptable.
