The system of EMU in high-speed railway is one system that requires high continuous operation and is composed of several subsystems (spare part). When a subsystem (spare part) goes wrong, it needs to be maintained. Compared to other systems, the difference is that when EMU is under repair, the spare parts (subsystem) of EMU are generally replaced as a whole in just time and maintained later (or repurchase). While the inventory quantity of the spare parts needs determining, two questions must be considered. First, under the application reliability given, make sure the total inventory cost of the spare parts is the lowest. Second when the total funds of the spare parts provided is certain, the spare parts in stock state should make EMU's application reliability to some higher extent. The paper combines the system reliability theory with the modem optimization method altogether, the result has certain reference value to the storage of the spare parts in similar EMU's system by researching this problem.
