Terahertz (THz) frequency doubling technique is an important technical approach for realizing THz sources, but the operating frequency range of frequency multipliers is typically limited to a single waveguide band. In order to resolve the problem, a combiner concepts based on gap waveguide for broadband THz system application is proposed and studied in this paper. The simulation results show that the s31 in the range of 0.11 THz to 0.17 THz and s32 in the range of 0.17 THz to 0.26 THz are approximately greater than −3 dB, indicating that the transmission characteristics between port 1 and port 3, as well as between port 2 and port 3 are efficient. Furthermore, s21 and s12 are less than −7 dB, demonstrating that there is good isolation between port 1 and port 2. The experimental results verify the feasibility of the scheme proposed in this paper. The research in this paper will have potential application prospects in the future terahertz broadband system.
