摘要
The various regions of the gas production rate curve were investigated and related to the similar behaviour of the boiling curve. The effects of temperature, electrolyte concentration and electrode material on the maximum value of the electrical current density were studied for both electrodes. Especially, the effect of electrolyte concentration is essential. In agreement with theoretical predictions, gas bubble growth during electrolysis is mass diffusion controlled, i.e. the bubble radius is proportional to the square root of time. The bubble growth rate increases at increasing electrical current density. Also, gas bubble behaviour was studied for different geometries and various types of electrodes.
