Avascular necrosis of the femoral head in a cynomolgus macaque (Macaca fascicularis)

Abstract A cynomolgus macaque presented with right hindlimb lameness as well as crepitus and decreased passive range of motion of the right coxal joint. Radiography and histopathology were consistent with avascular necrosis of the femoral head. This case is the first published report of this condition in a cynomolgus macaque.
