Research on the Chemotherapeutic Sensitivity of U-251 Glioma Cells and Glioma Stem Cells

Objective To study the sensitivity of U-251 glioma cells and glioma stem cells to some chemotherapeutic drugs(Vm-26,VP-16,5-FU),so as to provide some effective clues for clinic chemotherapy.Methods Glioma stem cells were isolated from U-251 human glioma cell line,MTT assay was performed to evaluate the inhibition effects upon the proliferation of U-251 glioma cells and glioma stem cells,and the sensibility of these drugs were compared.Result The inhibition rate of VM-26,VP-16,5-FU on glioma cells were evidently higher than glioma stem cells.Conclusion Glioma stem cells are more resistant to chemotherapy than glioma cells,the latter is the main target for chemotherapy.
