Objectives:To study the effect of enteral nutrition by needle catheter jejunostomy (NCJ) after total gastrectomy in patients with stomach carcinoma. Methods:Twenty eight cases received parenteral nutrition and 32 cases underwent enteral nutrition by NCJ after total gastrectomy. Results:Plasma albumim level of enternal nutrition group was not different from that in parenteral group. Glutamyl transpeptidase and alkaline phosphatase of enternal nutrition group were lower than those in parenteral group. Conclusions:Enteral nutrition by NCJ is more suit able to nutrition treatment after total gastrectomy in patients with carcinoma of stomach.
