A strain of bacterial was enriched, extracted and purified from an acid mine soil in Hubei province, which was identified as Thiobacillus thiooxidans. Some factors affecting its performance in bioleaching of collophanite were studied. The experiments show that, with an inoculation amount of 30%,initial pH value of 2.0,collophanite concentration of 10 g/L,particle size fraction-0.074 mm of 68%,and pyrite dosage of 10 g/L,the leaching rate can amount to 90.71% after 10 days of leaching.
