Objective:To extract the essential oil from the stem of wild Perilla frutescens,and analyze its constituents.This research will provide scientific proof for the search of biological activity compositions from Perilla frutescens to empolder this natural resource.Methods: The essential oil from the stem of wild Perilla frutescens was extracted by steam distillation,the components of the essential oil were separated and structurally identified by gas chromatlgraphy/mass spectrometry.The essential oil was investigated by anti- oxidation activities and antimicrobial activities.Results: 43 components were identified and accounted for 96.12% of the all peak area,the essential oil had anti-oxidation activity and antimicrobial activity.Conclusions: The major components were 2,6-Diterbutyl-phenol(20.99%),Neophytadiene (15.06%),Pristan-2-one (6.60%),Spathulenol(4.26%),α-Ionone(4.02%),etc.The essential oil has obvious action to anti-oxidation activities of scavenging effect for OH,and inhibited the growth of testing bacterias and sterilized them especially against Escherichia coli CMCC44113 and Candida albicans CMCC850216.
