Correlation and Regression Analysis between Quantity Traits of Tianshan Red Deer (Cervus eluphus)

The relationships between ages and body weight, fresh antler weight and the ratio of dry antler and fresh antler weight; between fresh antler weight and body weight; between antler weight and body weight, body measurements and size of antler of Liangquan breed,Tianshan red deer were analysed Most of the measurements are positively correlated with antler weight ( P 0 05); a few measurements are negatively correlated with antler weight ( P 0 05); the distance between the bases of antler is negatively correlated with antler weight ( P 0 01) A regression equation was derived The results of the study can be used in predicting body weight, antler weight, body measurements antler size and dry antler yield of the deer at different ages
