A technique of electrochemical hydrogen charging is adopted to study the behavior of hydrogen-induced cracking of 2.25Cr-1Mo steel. The average hydrogen concentration in 2.25Cr-1Mo steel was determined for the occurence of hydrogen-induced cracking(HIC).In order to investigate the effects of temper embrittlement on HIC resistance,a finite element analysis was adopted to simulate the hydrogen diffusion regularity near the crack tip under the interaction between stress and hydrogen environment. The range of hydrogen concentration at the crack tip was estimated for the initiation of crack growth.
