Model Test and Calculation Analysis of Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Post-Tensioned Steel Frame Concrete Longitudinal Girder of the 4th Qiantangjiang River Bridge

Taking the longitudinal girder of the hybrid structure of girder and arch of the 4th Qiantangjiang River Bridge as the prototype, the model tests and calculation analysis of tensile and bending girders of post-tensioned steel frame concrete have been conducted. In accordance with the conclusions of the mechanical behavior of the nine model girders generalized from the model tests, the simplified formulas of the ultimate bearing capacity based on the strain compatibility theory are provided, which may be used as a practical method in the design and calculation of the tensile and bending girders of post-tensioned steel frame concrete that are widely used for the current hybrid structures of girders and arches.
