Development and Applications of Low-alloy Steel Hammers

In order to improve the working life of stone crusher hammers, the good and cheap low-alloy steel hammers were successfully developed through a numbers of productive tests and industrial tests. According to the hammer characteristics of low contents of carbon and alloying elements, The stage heat treatment was performed on hammers. After heat treatment, the working surface hardness of the hammer head is between 50 HRC and 55 HRC and handle hardness is between 33 HRC and 42 HRC. The service life is three or four times as much as that of the forged steel hammer.
