Using 5052 Al alloy 10 mm thickness plate as investigated subject, the influence of hybrid CO2 laser-MIG welding technology on weld penetration of thickness Al-Mg alloy were studied. The results show that the weld penetration can be improved when adding little Ar gas into He gas,but the weld penetration degreases when adding excess Ar gas. With the increase of weld current, weld penetration first increases and then decreases and then increaseds again.Laser power and welding speed has the opposite effects on the weld penetration;heat source spacing has greater influences on the weld penetration, but has little effects on the weld morphology.
