The effect of mould temperature on the eutectic Si morphology of Al-Si alloy is investigated.The results indicate that the mould temperature changes the as-cast Si morphology obviously,and the Si evolution in the subsequent solution treatment.For modified Al-Si alloy,when the mould temperature is lower, the as-cast Si morphology is fine fibrous,and can be transformed into fine eutectic Si through a short time solution treatment;when the mould temperature is higher,the as-cast Si morphology is coarse fibrous or vermicular,and the Si particles is larger and coarser after solution treatment.
