The study was carried out to investigate the effect of alloying elements on wear resistance of heat-resistant ductile iron. The results show that the wear mass loss of ductile iron decreases with increasing Mn,Mo,and Cr content.Mn and Cr can enhance the hardness of materials, promote the pearlite transformation, stabilize and refine pearlite, and improve the wear resistance of ductile iron.Mo can increase the stability of the microstructure, refine pearlite, and thereby enhance the wear resistance of ductile iron.Si(4.5 wt.%) can reduce the carbide in as-cast structure and improve the wear resistance of ductile iron. But too much Si(5.0 wt.%) will reduce the number of pearlite and lower the wear resistance of ductile iron. The wear mass loss and friction coefficient of ductile cast iron increase with increasing load. But the rates of increase of the wear mass loss and friction coefficient of ductile cast iron specimens with low wear resistance were significantly higher than those of ductile cast iron specimens with high wear resistance.
