Determination of Catalase Activity in Wheat by Kinetic Spectrophotometry

Tetramethylbenzidine and hydrogen peroxide reacts to form blue substance with catalase,the bule substance can be detected by the spectrophotometry which can determine catalase activity of wheat. The result shows that the initial rate measured by spectrophotometry and catalase activity of wheat curve linear relationship,the linear equation is: y = 110. 26 x + 44. 06,the correlation coefficient r = 0. 993. Using this method is high accuracy,good repeatability,simple and fast in the determination of catalase activity of grain,so it provides a better method for determination of catalase activity in the grain.
