Water-resistance of acrylate emulsion adhesive

The acrylate emulsion adhesives containing the general emulsifiers and polymeric emulsifier have been prepared by batch technique. The measurements on the static contact angle with water, the water absorption of the adhesive films and the bonding strength of the adhesives have been carried out. The results show that the water resistance of the acrylate emulsion adhesives which contain the polymeric emulsifier is better than the one which contain the general emulsifiers.
