Contributions of Grandparents in Today’s Society

The focus on grandparents in today’s society is extremely important because, as educators, we are seeing more and more emphasis on the role the grandparent is playing in the lives of the students we teach. “Grandparents are raising increased numbers of children in their home… [It may be a] skipped generation or intergenerational form in which the family consists of grandparents and grandchildren, or the family may be multigenerational and include grandparents, adult children and grandchildren.
