Arterial Stiffness Is Associated With Small Vessel Disease Irrespective of Blood Pressure in Stroke-Free Individuals

Arterial stiffness and hypertension are important risk factors for cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Clinically, there are hypertensive patients with low pulse wave velocity (PWV) and nonhypertensive individuals with high PWV. We aimed to determine the effects of arterial stiffness on CSVD in normotensive individuals.
