摘要
Ti-56 at, % Al single crystals have been deformed in compression along two selected orientations. The sample strained along the [125] orientation was found to contain a profusion of faulted dipoles compared with that strained along [251]. Based on an earlier model for faulted-dipole formation, a crystallographic analysis of the nature of the leading and trailing partials of <011] dislocations as a function of load orientation, serves to explain the orientation dependence of the observed difference in faulted-dipole density.
