摘要
Over 110,000 drug overdose deaths occurred in the U.S. in 2022, the most in recorded history, with >75% involving opioids (1). Moreover, there are 46.3 million people in the United States with a substance use disorder (SUD), with only ∼7% receiving specialty treatment (2). There have been significant efforts to improve treatment outcomes; for example, the combination of behavioral treatment with medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) has been associated with increased treatment retention and reduced opioid craving and use (3,4).
