Studies on species and pathogenicity of Verticillium wilt of eggplant in mountain area of western Sichuan.

Sixty four Verticillium isolates were isolated from Verticillium wilt specimens of eggplant in mountain area of western Sichuan.They were used to identify the species of Verticillium.The result showed that the species in Verticillium wilt of eggplant was Verticillium dahliae Kleb.46 isolates were inoculated to test the pathogenicity,using soil inoculation method at eggplant seeding stage.All the tested isolateds were pathogenic to eggplant,but there was considerable variation in pathogenicity among them.According to the disease incidence on 21 d,index on 30 d and percentage of mortality on 45 d,forty six strains of Verticillium dahliae were divided into three pathogenicity types.
