Adipokines in psoriasis

The pathogenesis of psoriasis is associated with a variety of factors,such as genetics,immunity,and so on.Recently,psoriasis has been gradually recognized as a systemic disease frequently associated with metabolic disorders including obesity,hypertension,diabetes and metabolic syndrome.Adipose tissue may mediate the development of insulin resistance,inflammation,endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis by secreting adipokines.There is an abnormal expression of adipokines such as leptin,resistin,chemerin,adiponectin and visfatin in patients with psoriasis,which may be involved in the abnormal immune response and keratinocyte proliferation in psoriasis.
