Based on these findings, we concluded that ferritinophagy-mediated ferroptosis is one of the critical mechanisms contributing to sepsis-induced cardiac injury. Targeting ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes may be a therapeutic strategy for preventing sepsis in the future.
