From elite germplasm to transformation platform: Breaking recalcitrance in Tartary buckwheat

• Identified an elite germplasm, G253, with superior morphogenic callus induction and proliferation capacity. • Established a stable Agrobacterium-mediated transformation platform enabling transgenic plant generation. • Developed an efficient protoplast transient transformation system from the morphogenic callus.
