Protein digestion.

This chapter covers the digestion of proteins in rabbits. Some characteristics of the main protein sources included in rabbit diets are presented. The protein and amino acid balance, faecal digestibility and ileal digestibility are discussed. Moreover, nitrogen metabolism in the caecum is described. Protein digestion in young rabbits is also discussed as well as soft faeces and protein digestibility.
