Younger-Onset Dementias: Behavioral Neurology/Brain Diseases/Healthy & Pathological Aging

Dementia before the age of 65 years is categorized as younger-onset dementia (YOD) and accounts for about 15% of all individuals diagnosed with dementia. This chapter reviews the most common YOD syndromes: Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia. It examines their main clinical features, their changes on brain neuroimaging and provides an overview of their genetic risks and neuropathological changes.
