The structural-color based on the mechanism of butterfly wing coloring for wide viewing angle reflective display

摘要
Male Morpho didius displays brilliant blue color with less viewing angle dependence. It is known that this coloring does not come from pigments but from the surface micro/nano-structure. A less viewing angle dependent display is proposed by analyzing the coloring mechanisms. We've fabricated the structures displaying still images as well as different bright structural-colors. In addition, we placed them on an electrostatic comb-drive actuator to change the color.
