Black Phosphorous: Fluorination of Black Phosphorus—Will Black Phosphorus Burn Down in the Elemental Fluorine? (Adv. Funct. Mater. 35/2018)

As Zdeněk Sofer, Martin Pumera and co-workers present in article number 1801438, fluorination of black phosphorus with F2 introduces a unique combination of these two elements. Unlike the other common allotropes, black phosphorus does not undergo the destructive burning to the respective pentafluoride. The prepared material represents a promising step into the area of covalently modified black phosphorus derivatives.
