An antagonistic strain 1706,isolated from the soil collected in E,mei mountain of Sichuan Province,was identified as S.rishiriensis according to its morphological,physiological and biochemical characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence.Antagonistic test indicated that culture filtrate of the strain was inhibitive to Rhizotonia cerealis and Fusarium graminearum by reducing their mycelia growth up to 75.58% and 61.63%,respectively.Field tests indicated that control efficiency of the culture filtrate of the strain on strawberry powdery mildew was significantly higher than that of difenoconazole 500-fold dilution(81.25% vs 69.13%).All the results demonstrated that the strain 1706 is a highly potential biological control agent.
