The effects of different inter-tillage styles on physical and chemical characteristics of soil and maize yield formation were studied. The results showed that under multi-tillage,soil water content in 0-20 cm underground decreased, and soil enzyme activities of urease, neuter phosphorus, catalase and invert enzymes declined. The effect of tillage on bulk density was not significant at 0-10 cm soil layer during the period from anthesis to mature, but bulkdensity of zero tillage surpassed that of other treatments. There was not able effect on bulk density at 20-40 cm soil layer in harvest time, unapparent effect at grain filling stage, and bulk density under zero tillage was higher than that of other treatments. The grain yield was higher under minimum tillage than that under multi-tillage.Minimum tillage reduced production costs and increased economic benefits.
