The experimental scheme was designed using orthogonal regression test, in which the content of refining agent, refining time and refining temperature were considered as the affecting factors, and surface tension of ZL102 is measured in front of furnace by the self-developed apparatus. A model that refining technology affects the surface tension is established. The results show that the content of refining agent has a significant effect on the surface tension of ZL102 alloy, refining time is inferior, and that refining temperature has almost no effect on the surface tension and the effect of the interactive and quadratic terms can be neglected. The further investigation show that the calculated surface tension slight deviates from the measured values.
