Effects of Estrogen on Growth of Prostatic Stromal Cell

Objective To investigate effects of estrogen on the growth of prostatic stromal cell.Methods Prostatic stromal cells were separated in vitro and cultured,and the cell's growth was detected by cytometry and MTT assay.Results Estrogen can promote the growth of prostatic stromal cell in a certain concentration,but the growth of prostatic stromal cell will be inhibited when the concentration continues to increase.Conclusions The relationship between estrogen concentration and the growth of prostatic stromal cells shows an inverted U-shaped curve.In a certain concentration,estrogen stimulates stromal cell to multiplication,otherwise to inhibition.
