Preparation and Properties of Soya Bean Oil Based Polyurethane Prepolymer

Soybean oil based polyurethane PU with —NCO end was synthesized with reproducible soybean oil and TDI.The content of —NCO in the polyurethane was determined and the material was analyzed qualitatively with FT-IR.The color,viscosity,and accommodation degree were tested.The results showed that soybean oil based polyurethane reaction achieved the most completeness when the NCO∶OH is 1∶1,temperature holding time is 40h,and reaction temperature is 70℃.When —NCO content is 5.24 to 4.93 percent,the polyurethane PU has the best performance for application in printing ink.
