Experiment on thinning of Cinnomamum plantation

According to the experiment on thinning of Cinnomamum plantation, the results showed that the thinning improved illuminance in the forest after thinning in the fifth year, promoted photosynthesis and accelerated growth of tree. When thinning intensity was 20 %~50 %, the total biomass of forest stand (include thinning) was higher than that of not thinning and economic benefit increased obviously. Economic benefit of thinning intensity of 30 %~50 %, and reserved density of 3 500~4 500 tree/hm was the highest, with input-output ratio of 1:7.5~7.7. Based on the analyzing factors, taking rotation 8~10 years both yield stand as cultural objective, the stand could be thinned according to the situation of growth, initial planting density and differentiation of trees in the fifth year.
