Objective To evaluate clinical significance of cervical cerclage in management of cervical incompetence.Methods From January 2007 to March 2008,20 cases of patients with cervical incompetence received cervical cerclage at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,the General Hospital of PLA.During 15~23 gestational weeks,cervical cerclage was practiced.Different from traditional operation,the cervical cerclage was practiced by diplo-U suture.Before and after operation,all the patients received tocolysis.Results Among 20 cases,18 cases received prophylactic cervical cerclage and 2 cases received remedy cervical cerclage.The result of one patient was late abortion.The result of 2 patients was premature birth before 34 gestional weeks.Among them,one case was premature birth before 33+4 gestional weeks,whose neonatus weight was 1905g.Another was premature birth before 31+3 gestional weeks,whose neonatus weight was 1 740 g.The two children survive well now.Other 17 cases delivered after 34 gestional weeks,whose children survive well now.All 20 patients hadn't postoperative complication of premature rupture of membrane and infection.Conclusions Cervical cerclage is effective in management of cervical incompetence and prophylaxis of repeatedly late abortion and premature birth.
