An advanced composite was prepared by combining carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP) with fiber Bragg grating(FBG) sensor,then the properties of strain sensing for fiber gratings have been studied experimentally.Experimental results show that Bragg wavelength of fiber Bragg grating has good linearity and repeatability with its strain,and the sensing properties are greatly influenced by the adhesive properties between fiber Bragg grating and the host material.A calibration test has been performed on FBG with strain gauges,and the strain sensing sensitivity coefficient of the properties of FBG was gained.The result revealed that the testing data of fiber Bragg grating was stable and reliable,Experimental results have made a good theoretical and experimental prepare for smart and advanced composite's research and application.
