Synthesis of Diethylene Glycol Dibenzoate Catalyzed by Solid Super Acid SO~(2-)_4/TiO_2 on Glass Beads

Diethylene glycol dibenzoate is synthesized using solid super acid SO~(2-)_4/TiO_2 on glass beads carrier as catalyst.Under the optimum conditions that the reflux temperature was 165～170 ℃,the mass ratio of toluene to diethylene glycol was 0.5,the molar ratio of benzoic acid to diethylene glycol was 2.2,the mass ratio of catalyst to diethylene glycol was 0.5,and reaction time was 4 h,the esterification rate was up to 99.6%.Activity of the catalyst decreases by 2.9% averagely after 10 times resuse
