Catalytic Conversion of n-Heptane over Alumina-supported Platinum Derived from the Different Aggregates of Platinum Cluster Complexes

The catalytic performance of alumina supported platinum metal cluster catalysts {Pt 3( μ 2-CO) 3(pph 3) 4/Al 2O 3[Pt 3(CO) 6] 5[N(C 2H 5) 4] 2/Al 2O 3} for the catalytic reforming of hydrocarbons was studied under the conditions of reaction temperature and pressure(500℃ and 1.2 MPa) that approximated to the conventional platinum reforming process.The activity,aromatization selectivity and stability of the platinum metal cluster catalyst were found to be significantly improved in comparison with the conventional catalyst.The smaller platinium aggregate (Pt 3) was superior to the larger aggregates (Pt 15 ) for the catalytic conversion of n -heptane
