It is suspected that nonylphenol and bisphenol A have endocrine-disrupting effects, and a method of their removal is urgently sought. In this study, in order to obtain fundamental data on their removal by activated carbon adsorption, adsorption isotherms were measured. Adsorption data from four commercial activated carbons used for water treatment indicated that the chemicals were very adsorbable even in extremely low concentration.
