Effects of several kinds of catalysts on catalytic oxidation of elemental mercury in the flue gas emitted from coal-fired power plants are summarized in this paper. The latest research progress and conclusions of the three catalysts, including SCR catalysts, carbon-based catalysts, and metals and metal oxides, are represented in detail. The influence of chemical compositions on the oxidation of elemental mercury are emphatically analyzed, and the directionsforfuture research in this field are also suggested.
