摘要
Achilles tendinopathy is a common and long‑lasting injury in runners that causes pain and limits physical activity. Treatment decisions are often based on improving pain, but pain alone does not always reflect how well the Achilles tendon functions during demanding movements. This research examined how mechanical function can be better assessed in runners with Achilles tendinopathy using strength testing, movement analysis during hopping, and consideration of how pain is anticipated before activity. The findings show that pain reduction does not necessarily mean full recovery of function. Assessing movement performance and pain expectations may help guide safer and more effective rehabilitation strategies and return‑to‑running decisions.
