Fiber-Reinforced Ceramic Composites

Ceramic fiber ceramic composites have been fabricated by a novel chemical vapor infiltration process. Silicon carbide fiber-reinforced silicon carbide tubes were fabricated and tested. This material exhibits non-brittle fracture and excellent strength at room-temperature, 1000°C and 1200°C.
