Objective:To detect the expression levels of chemokine IP-10mRNA and cytokine IL-6mRNA in normal oral mucosa and oral lichen mucosal epithelium and lamina propria and to investigate the role of IP-10 and IL-6 on oral lichen planus.Method:The epithelium and lamina propria from 10 cases of oral lichen planus and 6 cases of normal oral mucosa were adopted.Real-time RT-PCR was used to detect the expression levels of IP-10 and IL-6 mRNA.Result:The expression levels of IP-10 and IL-6 mRNA in both epithelium and lamina propria of OLP group are significantly higher than that in normal oral mucosa group(P 0.05).However,the expression levels of IP-10 and IL-6 mRNA showed no significant difference between lamina propria and epithelium(P 0.05).Conclusion:The increase of IP-10 and IL-6 may have some correlation with the pathogenesis and progress of oral lichen planus.
