Application of polymer flame retardant brominated polystyrene

The polybutylene terephthalate(PBT)was modified by using high molecular brominated polystyrene(BPS)and Sb2O3 as composite flame retardant.The effects of BPS/Sb2O3 on the combustion performance,electrical property and mechanical property of PBT were investigated.The results showed that the flame retardant effect of PBT using BPS/Sb2O3 was good and the composite flame retardant had little effect on the electrical property of PBT.A few mechanical properties were decreased.The vertical firing of the flame retardant PBT ranked FV-0 grade.
